Founded in 1784, the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) is the premier medical education organisation in Ireland, delivering the highest quality services on a competitive basis to Irish and global markets.

Noble Purpose: Building on our heritage in surgery, we will enhance human health through endeavour, innovation and collaboration in education, research and service.
While the College is rich in history and tradition and can trace its roots back to the 15th century ancient guild of medieval barber surgeons, it is also one of Ireland's most progressive institutions incorporating state-of-the-art technology and teaching methods. The medical research and training at RCSI is unique in that it extends beyond Ireland, involving our affiliates in the Middle East, North America, Malaysia and elsewhere in a combined effort to produce the finest doctors and surgeons.
The RCSI Medical School is one of the world's leading international-medical schools. Undergraduate students from over forty countries are receiving their training in the College and its associated hospitals. RCSI offers a comprehensive medical education which is held in the highest international regard and is recognised worldwide. In addition, RCSI provides a full range of courses and examinations at postgraduate level, catering for major specialties in Surgery, Radiology, Dentistry and Nursing.
RCSI also provides medical educational expertise to several countries in the Middle East, most notably in Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan
